The USASOA 'BOOTS ON THE GROUND' campaign was established nearly 5 years ago as a grassroots effort to procure the personal items and other necessities needed most by our ill, injured and wounded at Walter Reed Military Hospital. Since then, USASOA and our volunteers have been able to collect and distribute tens of thousands of dollars in goods and services to our wounded servicemembers and their families.

Please consider making a donation of one of the items in the list below. If you are able to do more, please do so. The items can be mailed to our office - please consider using Amazon Smile as USASOA is charity-associated. For larger orders, we will arrange to pick them up from your home or office in the DC Metro area

USASOA Operation Reboot

USASOA Operation: REBOOT is our peer to peer fellowship and support group for all military and veterans. Its core objective is to enable and promote a spirit of friendship and unity in a group setting. Building fellowship and trust through various supportive, therapeutic, and recreational activities help to displace barriers. If you are interested in this program, which is open to all veterans and active duty service members of every age and time of service, please contact us below.

Our first event for 2018 will be an outdoor BBQ - all food and drinks will be supplied, there is no charge for joining this group or in participating in any of our events. Activities for the BBQ include: volleyball, basketball, cards, and for those who wish to share thoughts and ideas, discussion groups will be available. Join us for a wonderful, relaxing time, coming together with old friends and perhaps meet new ones.

Exact details and location for this first event will be announced on the Operation Reboot 'closed-group' Facebook page and by email.

Operation Reboot events foster a renewed sense of commardiere, brotherhood, sisterhood, and belonging paramount to the importance of being able to express the personal experiences as a service member and as a veteran.

In an effort to maintain a sense of decorum and respect for each member of the group, Operation Reboot is a closed group on social media. The purpose of making this Facebook event page is to attract more members to the group who may see the value in participating or in helping others.

If you are interested, please go to our website http://www.usasoa.org/contact-us/ to send us a private message. You may also request to join our closed Facebook Group Page to stay up to date on our various events and programs in 2018 https://www.facebook.com/groups/248858165615060/#USASOA #OperationReboot

Much of the items we distribute come from incredibly generous contributors who wish to show our wounded that they are not forgotten. And, other items are collected during our monthly BOOTS ON THE GROUND collection drive.

We are also searching for volunteers, partners and supporters to help ensure that this terrific program continues at Walter Reed and we hope to expand BBQ FOR OUR HEROES to other military medical facilities around the country. Join us by donating or volunteering now

Our VISION is to provide all U.S. Veterans with the strongest veteran based support network, reduce the impact of PTSD, and eliminate veteran suicide.

Your donation will help cover the cost of permits, insurance (required to obtain a permit), support items and reception at the finish.

If you can offer support in other ways such as volunteering, non-monetary donations or anything you think might help our cause, message me!

Over the past 4 years, USASOA has been providing a Saturday afternoon of great American food, leisure, music, and fellowship for our recovering wounded service members that are currently residing at Walter Reed Military Medical Hospital.  The physical and mental injuries sustained by our wounded will often last them a lifetime. The USASOA outdoor BBQ FOR OUR HEROES program has evolved into an amazing morale boosting event for our ill, injured and wounded who are able to come outside into the warm spring and summer sunlight and be surrounded by loving and caring TEAM USASOA Volunteers who produce a traditional, American BBQ with all the fixin's.  USASOA holds one BBQ a month beginning in May and wrapping up in late October with our famous Chili-Fest.  We hope to expand this program into other military and veteran medical facilities around the nation.

We are looking to expand this terrific program to other military hospitals and clinics around the nation - click the button below to donate to this program or to volunteer and hold a BBQ FOR OUR HEROES in your city or town.
