USASOA Annual Benefit - Supporting Our Heroes

  • Presidential Ballroom of the Trump Hotel (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Join United Soldiers and Sailors of America - USASOA in honoring our heroes and celebrating our 6th year as a military and veteran service organization. Enjoy a special night as we celebrate and Honor Our Heroes while dancing to the music of the USMC Jazz Band. This roaring 20's themed benefit will help to support our ill, injured and wounded service members, veterans and their families through the nonprofit mission of United Soldiers and Sailors of America Silent Auction items have been donated by various restaurants, shops and businesses in the DC, Maryland and Virginia areas.
USASOA provides for the care and comfort of our ill, injured and wounded veterans, their families and care givers. As a military and veteran service organization and nonprofit charity, USASOA programs and services have a direct and meaningful impact on the quality of life for our wounded and have expanded to include supporting our homeless and at-risk veterans. Much of what makes USASOA different is at the core of our mission: to directly engage our veterans suffering from wounds seen and unseen by putting our Boots On The Ground to find them where they live. Our trained staff and volunteers go into the streets and parks to locate homeless veterans and bring them water, warm meal, toiletries and a ride to a local VA shelter. We also support other wounded veterans and their families who are struggling. Our BOOTS ON THE GROUND campaign collects food, toiletries, warm coats, hats and clothes which we distribute directly to veterans in the streets, in shelters and at our local military hospitals. USASOA offers programs which are streamlined and designed to assist veterans suffering from the challenges of PTSD and TBI as well as other mental and physical pains. Please join us for a special evening as we gather to celebrate our 5th anniversary year of being in service to our veteran and military communities and to honor their service and sacrifice. If you are unable to attend, please consider purchasing a ticket for an enlisted service member to attend.
Take a moment to visit our website www.USASOA.org to learn more and to volunteer your time, energy and talents to ensure that all veterans are treated as our greatest national treasures

USASOA and IRREVERENT WARRIORS SOCIAL

  • United Soldiers and Sailors of America - USASOA (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

USASOA OPERATION REBOOT is our peer to peer support group for all military and veterans of every age and period of service. The core objective of USASOA OP-REBOOT is to bring together and facilitate support and encouragement among service members and veterans who share common yet varied experiences while utilizing life-affirming, therapeutic and recreational activities. By building trust and fellowship we seek to establish and maintain a sense of mutual support so as to combat and displace barriers that prevent us from engaging and living a healthy, positive life. Being there for each other on common ground makes a real and lasting difference. We are also proud to have partnered with Give An Hour - a nonprofit organization of mental health care professionals and psychologists who donate their time and professional services free of charge and who attend our events to provide assistance and additional support to any veteran or service member in our group. Operation Reboot events foster a renewed sense of commardiere, brotherhood, sisterhood, and belonging paramount to the importance of being able to express the personal experiences as a service member and as a veteran.

The Irreverent Warriors Silkies hikes are a series of events across the nation designed to PREVENT veteran suicide by bringing veterans together using humor and camaraderie to heal the mental wounds of war through therapeutic events and entertainment.
Irreverent Warriors is PREVENTING veteran suicide through the use of unconventional therapy. Veterans are different, and therefore use different methods of coping. In the face of tragedy, a veteran is more likely to use humor as a coping mechanism than anything else. Civilians are not allowed to hike but are welcome to volunteer and/or meet us at the stops along the way!!!
The mission of the Silkies Hike is to bring veterans together with laughter and camaraderie, to provide a day of therapy. These hikes support and spread our bottom line: "put the gun back on safe, put it back on the nightstand, and stick around a bit longer."

USASOA Operation Reboot: Peer to Peer Group

  • United Soldiers and Sailors of America - USASOA (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Operation: REBOOT is our peer to peer support group for all military and veterans of every age and period of service.

If you are interested in this program, which is open to all veterans and active duty service members of every age and time of service, please send us a confidential message as your privacy is our utmost concern.  Contact Us to receive more information and to join the group.  Our next OpReboot can be found at this link, make sure to Contact Us beforehand http://www.usasoa.org/events/2018/9/15/usasoa-operation-reboot-peer-to-peer-group

Operation Reboot events foster a renewed sense of commardiere, brotherhood, sisterhood, and belonging paramount to the importance of being able to express the personal experiences as a service member and as a veteran.

USASOA Volunteer Orientation Meeting

The monthly Volunteer Orientation Meeting for March is scheduled for this Saturday morning in our DC office - refreshments will be served. If you are a current volunteer or would like to join Team USASOA and participate in one of our programs which have a direct impact on the quality of life for our ill, injured and wounded veterans their families and for the military and veteran communities at large, please join us this Saturday.
Over the past 5 years of serving our veteran and military communities, USASOA has maintained a policy of direct engagement utilizing 'Boots On The Ground' grassroots efforts to affect the change needed.
Each of our programs and services have a three part component to ensure the maximum, positive affect on the lives of our overall veteran and military communities. 1: Raising awareness 2: Providing the program/service related to that participate issue or challenge. 3: Raising funds to support 1 and 2.
USASOA never engages in fundraising for veteran/military issues or challenges on the concept of AWARENESS without providing the program or service needed to respond to that particular veteran or military issue. For instance, what good does raising AWARENESS for Veteran suicide without providing programs and services for veteran suicide PREVENTION.
Learn more about how you can use your energy, skills, talents and empathy to have a direct and meaningful impact on the quality of life for those who have bravely given so much for our nation and for our freedom. We inherited our freedom from the sacrifices of millions of service members and veterans - it is time to give back. Preview our Programs and Services now and fill out a Volunteer's Form to attend and we will email you back.
