USASOA Volunteer Orientation Meeting

The monthly Volunteer Orientation Meeting for March is scheduled for this Saturday morning in our DC office - refreshments will be served. If you are a current volunteer or would like to join Team USASOA and participate in one of our programs which have a direct impact on the quality of life for our ill, injured and wounded veterans their families and for the military and veteran communities at large, please join us this Saturday.
Over the past 5 years of serving our veteran and military communities, USASOA has maintained a policy of direct engagement utilizing 'Boots On The Ground' grassroots efforts to affect the change needed.
Each of our programs and services have a three part component to ensure the maximum, positive affect on the lives of our overall veteran and military communities. 1: Raising awareness 2: Providing the program/service related to that participate issue or challenge. 3: Raising funds to support 1 and 2.
USASOA never engages in fundraising for veteran/military issues or challenges on the concept of AWARENESS without providing the program or service needed to respond to that particular veteran or military issue. For instance, what good does raising AWARENESS for Veteran suicide without providing programs and services for veteran suicide PREVENTION.
Learn more about how you can use your energy, skills, talents and empathy to have a direct and meaningful impact on the quality of life for those who have bravely given so much for our nation and for our freedom. We inherited our freedom from the sacrifices of millions of service members and veterans - it is time to give back. Preview our Programs and Services now and fill out a Volunteer's Form to attend and we will email you back.

The USASOA Ambassador's League volunteers make regularly scheduled visits to our Military Hospitals to bring our ill, injured and wounded service members provide them with the care and comfort they deserve.

These morale-boosting visits provide our wounded with the care and comfort they deserve as they progress down their long road to recovery. USASOA Ambassadors also bring with them care packages filled with healthy snacks, gift cards, books and toiletries that are given to the wounded during these visits. Many of the items in the care packages come from another USASOA program Boots On The Ground - our collection drive campaign. Simple acts of gratitude and appreciation go a long way to ensuring that our wounded heroes understand just how much we appreciate and respect their individuals sacrifices.

Boots On the Ground is a grassroots campaign that serves and accomplishes two vital components of the overall mission.

First, it raises awareness among the American people to the current struggle for essential goods and services that many of our ill, injured and wounded veterans and their families encounter.

Secondly, Boots on the Ground  is an actual collection drive to gather various basic items and goods for our wounded veterans and their families in need. And then distribute them in local communities.

If you are interested in holding a Boots On the Ground in your neighborhood,  school, office or in front of a grocery store, please click the link below for more information.

Please consider making a donation of one of the items in the list below. If you are able to do more, please do so. The items can be mailed to our office - please consider using Amazon Smile as United Soldiers and Sailors of America is charity-associated. USASOA Veteran Advocacy Meetings on Captiol Hill

As a nonpartisan organization, we proudly place our mission first and meet with Congressional member from all political parties who believe as we do that our veterans and our military are our greatest national treasures and who will work to ensure that they are treated as such.

USASOA visits the offices of members of Congress on a monthly basis to advocate for effective policy and legislation that will enhance and support the lives of our veteran and military communities. Through our streamlined programs and services, USASOA maintains a direct connection with our wounded veterans, their families and care givers, including the overall veteran and military community. With specific, first-hand information, we are able to relay the challenges and issues facing our veterans and military directly to Congressional leadership in the hope of finding accurate and significant resolutions. Anyone who may wish to join our advocacy program, please contact us.

Ambassador's League THANKSGIVING visit at Walter Reed Military Hospital

  • Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (map)

Our organization's programs are designed to actively engage our ill, injured, and wounded service members and veterans on a one on one basis. As a result of that close connection, we have developed the Ambassador's League Program to directly assist our wounded service members and veterans while they are in our care by making visits to our local military hospitals. Once a month we hold an orientation and training session in our office for new volunteers who wish to join this program. The class is taught by professional healthcare providers who offer their services to our volunteers free of charge. If you are interested in becoming a USASOA Ambassador, please go to Volunteers Page now and fill out the form. Also, look on our Event Page for the next Ambassador's Training Session. This incredible program allows every day, appreciative Americans who have always desired to have a direct impact on the quality of life for our heroes to do just that. Sign up now, volunteer or take on a larger role within our organization.

REBOOT - Together For Thanksgiving

REBOOT is 'closed' peer to peer support group for all military and veterans with a core objective to enable and to promote a spirit of friendship and unity in a private group setting.  Building fellowship and trust through various supportive, therapeutic,  and recreational activities help to remove barriers especially for those who would otherwise be too inhibited to do so. Many of the planned activities include:   Fishing, Outdoor BBQ Events, Learning How To Landscape, Garden and Raise Vegetables,  Hiking and Walks,  Day Trips, Visiting Military Retirement Homes and Other Social Events that foster a renewed sense of belonging and trust which is of paramount importance to being able to express the personal experiences encountered as a service member or as a veteran.

This program is being offered to all veterans of every age and era of service - we believe strongly that a veteran is a veteran. Please also ask to join our closed Facebook Group.

For privacy, this is a closed group but open to any an all veterans who wish to join. Please contact us for more information on REBOOT and to join the group. #BeStrong #BeThere #HereForEachOther
