Every year, our terrific volunteers gather to open and read the thousands of Christmas cards we receive from all over the nation. Unfortunately, we still receive cards with not so nice phrases and sentiments that we do not want to be passed onto our deployed troops. Thankfully, those cards are a very slim margin but because of them, we are required to read all of the cards. Our volunteers work to ensure that only messages of gratitude, hope, peace and love are rightfully extended to our deployed heroes in time for Christmas. At the event we sort, mix and box up the cards to be shipped to various military bases worldwide. We mix the cards so that one military unit isn’t receiving the same set of cards from just one person or group.
